I currently work at this organisation where I got to mainly keep the warehouse tidy, help customers look for what they need and when goods and products are delivered, I got to place them in their corresponding section. While working in this business I observed the different types of roles like admin, duty managers and what it takes to be able to run a business, so I'm willing to be able to pursue higher roles like the ones mentioned in any type of organisations.
This vacancy involves me attending to stadiums like Tottenham Hotspur, Brentford Stadium and Stamford Bridge during matchdays or whenever some concerts are hosted in these premises. My responsibility is serving people attending these events by serving them any snacks, drinks, and beverages during the lasting of the event. To be able to get a shift in these events I must apply for it through the agencies app, and they normally confirm it within days. I'm a big fan of football so when attending to these shifts, I feel motivated and also realised that I have a certain type of interest in the retail industry.
Looked to keep myself busy and earn some money during the summer after lockdown. My role simply involved wiping off any dirt off tables and seats, making sure the theatre is tidy before opening hours. This role just involved refurbishing a two-floor house with a back garden and front yard in Abbey Wood. I managed to find this vacancy as I was going to be moving in that house, so the landlord offered me the opportunity to gain experience such as, removing wallpaper from all walls, removing old carpet, and putting a new one, maintaining the garden by using big gardening scissors and a lawnmower.
It was a work experience arranged by my school so I could be introduced into the world of work. My role diversified across various departments. At first, I worked at the kitchen and food services which involved tidying up tables before and after clients consumed their ordered foods, taking and serving orders. Then I was introduced into the front office and reception welcoming and directing all clients that entered the hotel. After I was taken into the housekeeping department which involved cleaning up all rooms. Lastly, my duty manager took me with her into some meetings where current and future plans for the business were discussed.
