Joan initially joined Metadesign in the capacity of Sales Manager and due to her diligence, commitment to the job and intelligence shown, quickly advanced through the ranks. Joan receive a promotion to the position of Key Account Manager, managing large institutional clients for our entire product portfolio (including all supermarket chains, Maxim’s Caterers and the entire district of Macau) and was also the founder of the chocolate and confectionery department for Metadesign. Two of her greatest achievements being that after just 2-years, Metadesign became the largest importer of couverture chocolate into Hong Kong and Joan planned and subsequently launched Nestle’s Baci chocolate brand into Hong Kong and Macau. I was fortunate to be able to work very closely with Joan throughout her time in Metadesign. Joan became my protégé demonstrating that she could critically think, absorb more complex business concepts and gained a mastery in providing data-quantified support for business plans, including sales projections, value chain analysis and ‘what if’ scenarios. Joan is a natural communicator. This skill meant that Joan could approach negotiations and business development with brand principles and clients alike, with relative ease. It is fair to say that Joan has a very strong business acumen with an ability to put a plan into action to a high degree of proven success. All the above-mentioned traits led to Joan working almost independently without daily supervision for the last period of her tenure with Metadesign. She was trusted and competent and remains a popular member of the Metadesign family among all her peers. She is dearly missed. I recommend Joan without reservation. She is one in a million!
