Position overview

The Head of Sales promotes and develops the brand's presence in the UK. The ideal candidate will work in close collaboration with the global teams based in Paris/France and with the UK HO peers (Finance, Marketing, Logistics, HR) in order to ensure local priorities and to align with the global strategy.

The Head of Sales should be a natural leader and collaborator that will develop teams and partnerships in order to align brand plans and objectives.

This is a multi-faceted role requiring a combination of operational excellence and business acumen to manage all aspects of the operations that underpin the performance achievement that the business requires to hit targets.

Responsibilities:

• Creatively enhancing and growing the sales, store network and retail operations for the brand.

• Responsible for achieving sales and profit targets in retail store and department stores, ensuring that all sales, margin and KPI goals are met.

• You will develop specific revenue plans for sales teams as needed to ensure growth in all products targeted by the organization

• With MD, responsible for the P&L of the retail channel including proposing a full budget per store (from sales to contribution) in agreement with the general guidelines provided from HO.

• Responsible for forecasts, stock levels, orders for all stores (products, POSM) as well as management and follow up of the retail KPI and monthly retail reporting analysis.

• Ensuring the highest level of customer service in the Stores.

• Partnering with the logistics team to influence merchandising decisions that will drive business in this area.

• Ensuring that the brand positioning in terms of image and presentation in the local market is consistent with the overall brand strategy.

• Partner with the marketing manager, define a retail-marketing plan for the season, following the brand general guidelines. Make sure it is implemented in all retail networks.

• Devising creative local marketing plans to drive traffic, attract customers and retain and develop existing customers. Develop deep roots in the local communities.

• Providing input to the CRM team to recommend and implement local CRM activities to maximize sales and build customer loyalty.

• Help prepare budgets and put strategies in place to achieve financial targets.

• Attracting, leading and developing a world class retail team.

• Partner with the Head of HR to recruit and develop a high-level team to support and drive the business.

• Motivate, coach and inspire teams leading by example.

• Ensure that training initiatives are effectively implemented.

• Provide leadership and share the company vision to motivate and retain staff.

• Participate in new store negotiations including identification of locations before then directing all start-up activities for new stores.

• Follow up with architects and associated personnel on build out progress.

• Ensure that store operation manual is adhered to including stock, cash etc.

• Work with HR and required suppliers to ensure company adheres to the UK legal requirements for Health & Safety, Insurance, First Aid, Fire Safety and Security.

• Manage and oversee store maintenance

Candidate’s Profile

• A strategic business driver who is passionate about building a successful team and who is highly results oriented

• Strong sales background with experience in luxury sector including competitor activity

• Right balance between being hands-on and being a leader.

• Experienced in long & mid-term strategies to have an immediate impact on the sales cycle by coaching and supporting the team.

• 8 to 10 years’ experience in a Retail Operations role, ideally in the perfume and cosmetic industry

• Personal affinity for the world of Luxury and cosmetics

• Natural leader that inspires teams and collaborates cross functionally

• Strong business acumen and analytical skills, result-oriented

• Strong interpersonal skills
