About the role

The Junior Designer will have the responsibility of providing support to the design team across soft bags, luggage and accessories. This role demands a clear understanding of colour, materials and experience in designing soft goods for manufacturing. Additionally, the role will require close collaboration with the Head of Design, on all projects.

The candidate for this role should also possess a strong command of digital tools, such as Clo3D, to facilitate the sharing of digital designs with the team and factories.

• Your responsibilitiesPropose new concepts, ideas and directions
• Propose and discuss new ideas and solutions through sketching, pattern and 3D softwares
• Creating detailed technical specifications for factories
• Identify and suggest improvements to the current products
• Producing 3D designs using Clo3D or similar sot modelling softwares
• Develop products and collections aligned with the broader brand and product vision
• Work closely with our global factories throughout sampling and production
• Manage the storage of files across different server platforms

• Your profileRelevant degree-level or equivalent qualifications in bags/accessories fashion design, product design.
• 2+ years of industry experience in bags and luggage design.
• A good understanding of pattern making and soft construction
• Enthusiastic about the creation of new products.
• Strong presentation skills
• Strong technical understanding of materials and fabrication techniques used within consumer and industrial product manufacturing
• Commercially aware of brands in the sector.
• Detail and results-oriented.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Thorough knowledge of creating and maintaining technical specifications
• Software: solid proficiency in Adobe creative suite
• Detailed experience using Clo3D or similar softwares

Responsibilities: 

- Coordinate the creative side of the business across all department - W/W, M/W and SLGs

- Create creative and comercial strategies for the company setting and managing KPIs

- Managing the creative team keeping a comercial and growth mind set 

- Researching trends and creating new trends strategies and ideas

- Liaising with factories in France or Italy to ensure deadlines and quality control are met

- Preparing Design Packs for manufacturers

- Making presentations on new season trends

- Designing ranges for season based on key look

- Liaising with our account managers and technologists to ensure products are developed to meet quality and price requirements

The Candidate:

- Ideally must have 2-4 years of experience working with various retailers in the luxury industry

- Pro-active and creative

- Passionate about design and fashion

- Able to work in a fast-paced and hardworking environment

- Ability to multi-task and be flexible to work as part of a team and individually when needed

- Highly enthusiastic and motivated

- Excellent communication skills, fluent in French

- Customer knowledge of luxury brands & awareness of cost and competitors

- Strong presentation and teamwork skills

- Keen to contribute ideas

- Strong CAD skills - confident on Illustrator/Photoshop/InDesign

- Able to identify emerging trends and interpret them for commercial product ranges

- Able to work to a critical path and work well under pressure

- Experience working with European factories/suppliers
