In June this year, I was lucky enough to have undertaken a work experience placement at Black Hangar Studios, working on the upcoming motion picture, “I Live Here Now” as a Trainee Production Runner. My responsibilities included getting cast and crew to set, calling out takes and coordinating the Art Department; alongside this, the director specifically asked me to assist her during filming, giving the cast visual cues (by moving props) on set – with my performance resulting in a successful first take.
Alongside my regular studies at college, I am a part of the Mid-Hants Railway’s social media team, the Watercress Films Unit, in which I upload, create and review content for their YouTube channel and Tiktok profile with my colleagues Ryan and Will. It was here that I first learnt about how I can make the algorithms of social media platforms work for business and content strategy. Nothing I know now came from a book or website; instead, it came through first-hand experience.
