Stewart Milligan

Head of R&D Material Development @ PANGAIA | Sustainable Textiles
About

As the Head of R&D Material Development at PANGAIA, a global lifestyle brand that creates sustainable and innovative products, I lead the early stage research and development of new polymers, fibres, yarns, fabrics, finishes, and processes. For three years, I have been exploring, experimenting with, and developing new sustainable textile solutions that are aligned with the company's vision and values. I have more than 20 years of experience in material science and textile technology, with extensive knowledge of emerging new sustainable textile solutions across the entire supply chain. I have a BSc. in Textile Technology from The Scottish College of Textiles (Heriot Watt University), and I am an expert in knitted fabric and garment development, fit and grading, particularly of stretch and knitted garments. I have also been responsible for developing and delivering to market, multiple ground-breaking and patented innovations, in collaboration with internal and external teams. I am passionate about creating positive impact through sustainability and innovation in the textile industry.
