About

For the last 2.5 years I have been working as a technical designer and assistant pattern maker for the fashion brand Holzweiler in Oslo. I obtained all my previous work experience in the same field in Nottingham, Amsterdam, Antwerp, Berlin and Vienna. Recently I have moved to Paris to continue my journey as an educated tailor and pattern maker. 2014 I obtained my tailor degree and went on to study at the Antwerp Fashion department and the Amsterdam Fashion Institute where I focused on my design and creative development skills. I have over a decade of experience in sewing and tailoring, especially doing so in high-pressure environments and an excellent understanding of the translation from 2D drafts into 3D-objects. My interest in progress and expanding knowledge is a driving force in my professional and personal life.

To Whom it May Concern, It is with immense joy and warmth that I write this letter of recommendation for Miss Jil Gilbert, a cherished and accomplished senior member of our beloved technical design team at Holzweiler Items. Having had the privilege of working closely with Jil for a delightful two-year period, I can wholeheartedly and affectionately affirm her outstanding contributions to our Ready-To-Wear and Runway collections. Jil's unwavering commitment to excellence, coupled with her proactive and inspiring approach to challenges, has consistently set her apart as a radiant star in our dynamic work environment. Jil's impact on our team extends far beyond the confines of her official role. From the very first day, she illuminated our workspace with a remarkable willingness to go above and beyond, consistently delivering results that exceeded expectations. Her collaborative spirit, adaptability to evolving challenges, and discerning eye for workmanship and patternmaking have made her an indispensable and dearly loved asset to our organization. Without Jil, our collections, both in terms of production finish and visual allure, would not have attained the extraordinary level of excellence we cherish, especially in our dazzling runway showpieces. What truly distinguishes Jil is her deep-rooted passion for fashion patternmaking and her steadfast dedication to continuous improvement. Her mastery of both traditional tailoring patternmaking and cutting-edge digital techniques, combined with her handcraft and sewing skills, has left an indelible and loving mark on our collections. Jil's adept use of 3D CLO design not only enriched the creativity of our team but also resulted in significant cost savings and reduced development times, a testament to her brilliance and ingenuity. In conclusion, it is with all my heart and without a shred of reservation that I wholeheartedly recommend Jil Gilbert. Her exemplary performance during her time with us is a radiant reflection of her competence, unwavering work ethic, and genuine, deep-seated passion for patternmaking and handcraft. I am entirely confident that Jil will infuse the same level of dedication and warmth into any future endeavor she chooses to pursue. As Jil embarks on this exciting new chapter in her career, my warmest wishes accompany her every step of the way. Her contributions to our organization have been immeasurable, and I am certain that her journey ahead will be adorned with remarkable success and boundless joy. Best regards, Duy Ngo

Jil showed great initiative already from her first day, and she quickly became an important part of the team. Her work ethic is impeccable and has a great attention to detail and organisation of tasks. Jil really is a multitalent with a keen design eye, and a very high level of technical understanding in garment construction, pattern making and assembling. Here strongly influencing the brand direction with her silhouettes. Finally, he was a great cultural fit, and we miss his positive energy here at Holzweiler.
