Rhys Ashton

I am based in Manchester, I currently work as a fashion designer and owner of my own fashion house, Rhys George Ashton LTD. I am open to work in Manchester and London, working remotely is an option for me. I work well in teams and can manage teams effectively as the CEO and Creative Director of my own brand, designing seasonal collections for both Womenswear and Menswear. I am also open to positions outside of the UK. Working as part of a creative team and senior designer for a fashion house. I am available at short notice and am creatively driven to complete any task or project I face. I also have past experience working for a brand, whistleblowerclothing designing menswear which were sold in ASOS and Boohoo. And seen in huf magazine, A magazine and British Vogue. When designing I look for inspiration from many places, the current economic climate and climate change using recycled and reusable fabrics and past eras and trends, modernising them. All while keeping colour palette, state of mind; current trends are set not followed. I drawn my inspiration from many places and cultures. As my experience in the fashion industry and passion for design. Fashion to me is an expression as much as an art form. Creating a surge in people, empowering ideas and ways of self-expression. Consistent, as a form of identity and individualism. For years I have had a fixation on design and the interplaying relationship between the emotional effect it has on people and the world at large. Forgetting the functional aspect and the role it plays. Expression through design; of garments, has fuelled me creatively I’m an eclectic person, open to new avenues. Capturing a feeling, moment in time; state of mind or era in different ways to are personal. I also work part-time as a model, collaborating with and ‘am an ambassador’ for several fashion brands; modelling for and through social media, mainly Instagram. Including VALERIO™ and Vibationapparel. I also take on freelance work and am open to signing a contract with an agency. Self Employed as an Artist. Hand painting commissioned artwork. Tailoring and designing pieces for commercial reasons. I draw from the client’s specification; creating a few quick ideas while keeping my personal inspirations and styling at hand. Being mindful of my evolving style and; state of mind. Remembering the environment the piece will be in, creating harmony in the living space or commercial area it will be displayed through. I’m a creative, driven, friendly, open and intelligent individual; Highly motivated and endlessly looking for new ideas.
